What is it?

Ever heard about the unsung heroes in your life? Of course not, hence unsung! Not-so-similarly, a lot happens under the ground and it doesn't meet the eye even through your magnifying glasses!
We have volcano, tornado, katrina and tsunami inside of us; it's just a matter of time when it chooses to be not-so-dormant at a certain point which manifests in the form of tragedies that we encounter during that phase.
You see smiling faces, oh! you see laughing faces, cheers! you see a lot of faces, but do you see it?! One of those faces lost their mother last month, the second one broke up with his long-term girlfriend, the third one lost his job three days back, the fourth one got diagnosed with AIDS about two months back, the fifth one is just sitting in the corner wondering if he should live or commit suicide and the sixth one is getting married next month. Aha! Finally something to smile for, right? Well, he's getting married for the third time and lost his ex-wives due to infidelity issues. Aren't we already back to the circle of depression?! Wait, the round table conference does't end after six nightly people going though their share but is just a glimpse of what happens behind the 'scenes' but is often 'edited' and 'directed' in a way to be 'produced' as a causal smile with nothing much to say, for words fall apart when they begin to express!
So, you've already started to wonder what's the point of me saying all this, right? ONLY six people, after all, more people die in car accidents everyday! Da! My friend, it's the story of billions of us here on earth going through these tragedies in life, or just for the sake of a better word, let's say experiences and yet for some reason, we fail to understand the perspective of the other person who 'behaves' in a certain way! Only if we could see behind-the-uncut-scenes !!!
But it isn't everything's-so-damn-gloomy scenario either. So what if we don't know about the other person's terminal condition or his lonely life or estranged wife, we have been blessed with emphatic abilities that allows us to step in their shoes and understand what it's like without actually going through it, then why have we reserved our existences so selfishly that these people continue to suffer? Is it our ignorance or theirs?! True, ignorance is bliss at times but at this point, it appears more like an impending disaster!
We fail to ignore the tongue-in-cheek men,
We fail to ignore the drama queen,
We fail to ignore the Munchhausen news,
but
On a bright note, we do not fail to ignore our ignorance!
Don't know for sure if it's sad, bad or painfully mad?!
We can't apply lotion on a burn wound but we can get the victim to the burn center where desired help can be provided, right? And lo! Where did the burn victim come from?! I mean to say that all people who have gone through tragedies in their lives are living with them; some have healed, some have gone in denial, some have repressed it, some continue to be in pain, some make others go through the same to have company! and some...just like the tragedies, their way of dealing with it goes untold, unheard and unseen. They are the burn victims; burning with anger, fear, frustration, resentment, jealousy, hatred, loneliness, guilt and other unidentified burns!
May be, when a tsunami came, these people could relate their lives to it in a much better way than they could relate to any of the wedding/ birthday/ Olympic/ World Cup celebrations where they do not even know how to connect to that happiness!
May be, they're blue,
Or may be, they're not.
May be, it's their karma,
Or may be, it's not.
May be, you have a chance to save few,
Or may be, you just don't want to.
May be, it's the may be one should blame,
Or may be, it's your own untold story.
So, what is it?
